Timeline: August 2022 – November 2022
A Louisiana upstream operator retained Bell Engineering® for construction supervision across two wellsite development locations. Both sites required full pad construction, roadway improvements for rig and equipment access, and overall site development work executed in the challenging terrain and weather typical of the region.
Bell ran construction supervision on the ground at both locations. Daily walk-downs tracked earthwork progress, drainage control, material deliveries, and sub-contractor performance against the schedule. Where weather or ground conditions slipped the plan, we re-sequenced activities with the operator’s drilling schedule in mind so rig-up wasn’t delayed.
Roadway improvement work was a particular focus. The access paths to both sites had to support heavy rig and associated equipment traffic, and that required careful attention to sub-grade preparation, drainage, and surface treatment given the soft and wet field conditions. Our field leads coordinated with the civil contractor each day to keep construction quality consistent across both locations.
Both wellsites were handed over to drilling on schedule. The pads and access roads held up through rig mobilization and the subsequent drilling campaign, and the operator closed out construction without punch-list items open against Bell’s scope.
